The tomb of Ahmose is situated in El Kab and is dating back to the end of the 17th dynasty and beginning of the 18th dynasty. He was the son of Ibana (mother) and Babai (father), a soldier. He rose from naval recruit to admiral, fighting in major battles during 3 faraos, Amose, Amenhetep 1 and Thutmose 1. The tomb contains one of the most important historical documents of this period. His biography describes the battle of Avaris and the expulsion of the Hyksos. He describes riding next his King, who rode a chariot, the earliest mentioning of a chariot.
