Kalabsha
The temple of Kalabsha was destined the same fate as Philae, so in th 60's the rescue was part of the hugh plan to save the mayor temples in the Nubian and Aswan vicinity. This work at this temple was the task of the German archeological soc. It is a smaller type of temple dating to the times of Ptolomaic period, although there was an older temple from the reign of Amonhotep 2.
The temple was dedicated to Nubian God Mandulis. There was a close relation with the Goddess Isis in Philae and in old times there was a barque procession to the Isis sanctuary here in Kalabsha from Philae.
