Monthu-herkhopsef (KV19)
Beautiful colored tomb. Son of Ramses 9. Except for KV 5 for the sons of Ramses 2, he was the only prince to be buried in the Kingsvalley. His tomb was robbed in early days and discovered by Belzoni. His mummy however was replaced in old times and was found among others in the tomb of his father KV3. Beautiful colored tomb, however unfinished. Perhaps the tomb was orriginally intended for Ramses Setherkhepshef, the hereditary prince, who was to be crowned as Ramses 8 and who is never found yet.
At the entrance of the tomb you pass a wooden coverage, covering the tomb KV 60, and in which lately the mummie of Hatshepsut was identified.
KV 19 is a small but colorfull tomb, although unfinished.
Situation: Open, glass
Entrance LE12 for 3 tombs, since June 2003 its no longer allowed to take pictures
