Pashedu (TT3)

Deir el Medina is supposed to be the the place where we can find the most beautiful tombs of the Luxor area. In Faraonic times here the workersvillage was situated and the people were scribes and workers working at the tombs of the faraos, because they were the best. But then the best they kept for themselves on the work of their own tombs. Three tombs are open to the public presently: Senedjem, Pashedu and Inherkhau, of which the tomb of Pashedu is the least visited, probably just because it futher off the road, high upon the hill, and one has to descend 50meters down into the tomb. Remarkable is the pair of Anubis figures along the entrance of the burial chamber. The tomb dates from the time of Seti 1 and Ramses 2. His whole family, including his wife and her sisters are represented on the wall, with scenes of his daily life. His title servant of the Place of the truth of West Thebes indicates he was employed by the temple.
