Rocktombs Aswan
In the Aswan area there are besides the famous temples of Philea, Abu
Simbel and Kalabsha some others sites too, which are worth a visit. Not
known to many Aswan has several Rocktombes, open to the public. They
are located on the Western Nilebank high upon the desertslopes,
overlooking the river. A visit to them can be combined with a nice boattrip
on the Nile to Kitchener Island, though it takes a harsh climb up the
hill.They belong to the Southern Kings from the 11th dynasty, by the name
of Sirenpowet 2.
