Ty

His tomb is dated somewhere in the middle of the 5th dynasty, during the reign of Neferirkare and Niuserre, and his title “Overseer of the hairdressers of the Great House” tells he was close to the king. Why he built his tomb at Sakkara and not at Abusir, where the rulers of his time built their pyramids, is not clear.
Inside the tomb in the serdab is a replica of his Ka-statue, while the original is in the Cairo museum.
He had at least three son: Demedji, Ty and Benek. He was married to Neferhetepes, a priestess of Neith and Hathor.
