Userhat TT56

The tomb of Userhat TT56 should not be confused with Userhat TT51, because they are too different tombs. Tomb 56 lies in the neighbourhood of Ramose TT55, and directly opposite Chaemhet TT57. It has been open quite some time now, almost from the beginning of 1900. It's a terrible tomb for the illumination and they have to work with mirrors. His official title was Scribe who counts Bread in Upper and Lower Egypt, meaning simply he was an Overseer of the graindeliveries to the bakeries. On the walls in his tomb he is represented together with his wife Mutnefert. The tomb also shows damage by the early christian monks.

Situation: Open, no glass

since June 2003 its no longer allowed to take pictures
